What should you do in your spare time of 1-2 hours which will be helpful for the rest of your life?
There are tons of skill you could learn for 1 to 2 hours a day that will help you become successful in the next 5 years. I will list down a few that works well here:
- Coding/Programming
- Digital marketing
- Public speaking
- Podcast
- Multimedia design
- Writing
- Filming/video production
- and etc.
These are a few career skills that you could learn for very short time every day without the need for traditional education, yet to be incredibly useful to your future.
While the term successful may differ from person to person, I believe there are many other universal “skills”, which don’t seem directly related to one’s career, as important as the above, if not more important. They directly contribute to your day to day performance and productivity to carry out those specific skills required in your career.
- Relationship building, networking
- Strategic thinking & creative thinking
- Problem-solving
- Grit
- Perseverance
- Habits building
- Health improvement and maintenance
- Appreciation and gratefulness
- Ability to delay gratification
- Goal setting
- Teamwork
- Open-mindedness
- Decision-making
- Self-confidence
- Self-belief
- Ability to adjust and pivot
- Focus
I would suggest you and everyone else to pick only ONE or a few career skills at a time, because without focus, it’s almost impossible to make any impact and change within 5 years. You can form a team or mastermind to compensate each other’s career skills if necessary.
But for those universal skills, spend more time and effort to pick every single one of them up. They will be helpful in your lifetime.
